My Maths Goal

My Maths goal for week 5 is to learn all of my 6 and 7 time tables. By trying to achieve this goal I will need to practice at home, and also during school.

Fantastic School Picnic

Can you guess who would take over 600 kids from Point England school to a picnic? Well, Point Englands principle Mr Burt would. We were lucky enough to have such helpful parents.

When we got to the reserve I dumped my bag on the tarpaulin, then dashed to the beach. I saw my friend Saadiya and we started collecting shells. I found some very nice shells, and so did Saadiya.

After all of that walking I decided to go and relax. I grabbed my bag then sat down underneath a shady tree. I was really thirsty.

At 2’o clock lots of tired but happy children travelled back to school. The picnic was such a remarkable place to spend most of the day.

My Vision Board For 2012

This year I have set some goals for my-self. It will help if I improve in my maths and writing. One thing that I would really like to achieve is co-operating with different people around the school.

Sleepy Monday Mornings

I am learning to write an introduction that hooks in my audience. Here are 3 versions. Which Monday Morning introduction do you like and why.

1.Getting up on Monday mornings can be very difficult, especially when you went to bed late last night. My Mum makes me get up at 5.30am. WHAT A NIGHT-MARE!

2.Can you guess what time I went to bed? Well I went to bed very late. When I woke up I was extremely tired, my sister was hassling me and saying “GET UP”!

3.Did you know that other kids my age needs approximately 9 hours of sleep. There is 52 Mondays in a year, yep that’s right 52 Mondays. I really hate getting up.

Kingfishers

Do you know what this bird is called? Well its called a Kingfisher.

Kingfishers live in the wild. The kingfishers plumage is brightly coloured and also soft and feathery. Kingfishers eat fish, lizards, frogs, mammals, centipedes, spiders, worms, insects and grass-hoppers. The Maori name for Kingfisher is Kotare.

My Holiday

Can you guess what beach I went to in the holidays? Well in the holidays I went to the Point-England beach.

It was a nice and sunny day, so my mum suggested we should go. I was excited. But my sister was more excited than me.

My mum, dad, sisters, brother and I walked on the cracked shells along the foot-path. As we were walking we got to a green bridge, then we threw some rocks in the water. SPLAT!

Finally we got to the beach. I didn't want to go for a swim so I just collected shells. I was having lots of fun but then we had to go home, I didn't want to.

I felt really tired when I got home.
